• All smartphones are not perfect. Its an industry challenge. All other smartphones faces the same issue.
• The problem is demostrated on a video presentation showing Blackberry Bold, HTC Droid Eris, Samsung Omnia II

Market Statistics

• Market survey shows a small percentage of users are affected by the antenna problems
• Apple Care Data statistics showed 0.55% of iPhone users called Apple Care to complained about the antenna problem
• ATT iPhone 4 return rates is 1.7% when compared to iPhone 3GS 6.0%
• ATT call drop rates showed that there are more call drops per 100 calls compared to iPhone 3GS. But its only less than 1 additional calls.

Although small percentage of users, Apple still cares...

• Apple has released iOS4.0.1 with improved antenna calculation formula
• Apple will give out free iPhone 4 case to address the antenna problem until 30 September
• Free refund for all unsatisfied users within 30 days

Release of white iPhone 4

• White iPhone 4 will start shipping at end July. However inital stocks is still limited.

Apple will bring iPhone 4 to 17 more countries on 30 July

• On 30 July, the iPhone 4 will be released to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Apple offers free iPhone 4 case to fix antenna problem

In a press conference on 16 July, Steve Jobs officially addresses the iPhone antenna problem. He showed similar antenna problems also exist in popular smartphones like Blackberry Bold, HTC Droid Eris, Samsung Omnia II and its a challenge to the smartphone industry.

Apple wants to make everyone happy. They will give out free iPhone 4 case to advent the iPhone antenna problem. The iPhone 4 bumper is now available at $0 on Apple online store until 30 September. Apple will refund existing all iPhone bumper purchases already bought.

A full refund can be made if the iPhone 4 is still unsatisfactory.
